Imagine a world where all learners know, use and enjoy mathematics

"The best thing about math on Mercer Island is the teachers at every level. Teachers are working to have inclusive, interesting, rigorous and challenging classrooms so students leave their classrooms not only able to take risks and make mistakes, but knowing what they are capable of doing." - Maria Fontana, IMS Instructional Coach

You Make the Difference

"Today. Tomorrow. Together. Mercer Island School District's partnership with MISF continued to demonstrate the power of cohesion and collaboration. Our district leveraged the resource commitment from MISF and the generosity of its donors to maintain, enhance, and even add programs and services. I believe we continue to accelerate the student academic, social, and emotional learning process at a faster rate than others in part because of the support from MISF. We are excited about what we can accomplish along with MISF in 2023-2024."
—Dr. Fred Rundle, MISD Superintendent

Impact Stories

"The A Kids Book About Book... series has been a wonderful resource in my and other classrooms at Island Park. Reading a book to ignite discussion and learning around a specific topic is always a powerful way to present information. Students absolutely love listening to these books, and there is always a rich discussion after reading the text. Simply asking the students, "what does this book teach us about inclusion?" has led to insightful discussions that allow students to practice empathy and respect."
—Griffen Jones, Island Park Elementary teacher, Grade 5
